there was a really sweet jazz place by the station in place pradere or something, behind starbucks.. called Jaydos and it was run by a scottish guy ernie.. it had really nice food too.. but last time i tried to go in summer it was closed / havent been back since so not sure if it was a temporary thing.. does anyone know?

I have been to a couple of nice jazz sets at AMR.. but id like to find out if there are other places too so id be interested to find out!

Jaydos is currently closed as it is moving to a new location....The new place will be in 11 rue de Berne, in the old Camera movie theatre. Ernie is currently dealing with the re-furbishing and decoraters and is hopefully planning to be open again sometime in March.

Here are some other suggestions :

Gabs music lounge - Paquis - rue de Zurich

Chat noir - Carouge ( also has jam sessions on the first thursday of every month)

Catalyse - often has various forms of jazz and also offers food - grange canal,  14 avenue rosemont

AMR - rue des alpes

Do not go to Gabs! The place is a rip-off. They tried to short me 10 euro and the drink prices are way out of line. The place is way to bright for this type of venu. The song selection is horrid. Since when is "Let it be" and "Only a women to me" jazz?! Too bad the songs selection is so bad. Mr. Gabs is talented, but the place is not recommended.
