good wine shop (caviste) in France?
Apr 9, 2007 @ 00:27
Hello, Can anyone recommend me a good wine shop in France? (of course as close to Geneva as possible!). I've been in Ferney Voltaire (vinotheque du leman) and am really disappointed (with several bottles)... Thanks in advance S.

Hello!
I think it really depends what wine you are looking for. My experience is that if you know what you want, then you may even find good deal in CH. Carrefour, for example, has some pretty reasonably priced bordeaux. Aligro also has some good deals from time to time. But neither shop has much to offer in terms of advice.

Actually I meant "caviste" (it means in French a wine shop, don't know how you call it in English, cellar???), I know very well supermarkets' offer, but it's ok only if you look for very cheap and quite boring (not too risky at the same time) wines, I recommend also Carrefour in Segny. Fnally, thanks to some French forums, I have found a great caviste in Cessy, I recommend it to everyone! Thanks anyway for your answer
