how is it to live in Nyon?

My company recently relocated to Nyon.

So as to avoid time-consuming commuting I am considering moving to this town which I know as a Genevois but not from the inside.

How is it for you who live in Nyon? Do you find it easier to make contacts with locals than in Geneva or is it just the same?

Do you dare listening to some loud music at home on Friday or Saturday evenings (of course before 10 pm) or do your neighbours call the police from the first decibels?

Thanks in advance for your insights.

It's fine. Unlike Geneva people won't open conversations with 'So, what do you do?', 'Does it pay well?', etc, etc. It's more laid back and smaller than Geneva but given you're only 15 minutes away from Geneva by train you still have the option of going there easily should you wish.

It would also help if you join the Glocals Nyon Group to see what events are going on.

Nyon is decent. It's night life is even tamer than Geneva's, but unless that's a big deal for you, then you're OK there.

Thanks to you all for your comments. Smile

Moving from France with more luxurious and far bigger appartements to Switzerland is always difficult but commuting might be a nightmare and is definitely a waste of time.

I just hope that the dear Vaudois will not call the cops as soon as I listen to some hard rock during the saturday evening. Or I'd better buy myself a top notch headset to avoid ending in jail.
