how much it cost for a montly bus or train pass from neighboring france and montly pass inside Geneva

Hi

I was trying to figure out how much it cost for the montly pass from neighborng france and montly pass for train or bus inside Genenva. As i was trying to figure out, how much will be the total expense living in france and daily coming by bus or train.

We have an internship in Janury and accomodation is cheap in neighboring France but i was trying to figure out the travelling charges.

If someone can provide info on this, it will be very nice.

Regards

@Jehangir khan I cannot help you with the costs over the border but I know the (www.tpg.ch) Transport Publiques Genevois (TPG) charge CHF 70 a month for a travel pass which allows you on all buses, trains, mouettes inside Geneva. You have to buy the initial pass at the TPG office (there is an office in the main train station called Cornavin) and they will issue you your picture ID and first travel pass. Bring ID Photos with you for the first time.

Hope it helps.

You actually don't have to bring a passport picture to the TPG office, they take a picture of you there by webcam.

The train pass is peanuts, it is 70% subsidized by the French State. You can even use the Swiss Railways service which runs as far as Bellegarde if you live out that way.
