how to choose a second-hand car?

I decide to get a second-hand car, but I have no idea how to choose a car. Can someone give me some tips, please? does the Kilometers important? what do I need to check on with garage? and what kind of papers will be involved in besides my drive license? I mean any advise would be helpful, thanks in advance.

Buying a 2nd had car is one of the worst experiences around for most people, incl me...(-: No matter what I do, I always feel I get screwed.

What I found out works well is this: if you really see a car you like and you think the price is right, take it to a garage for a quick check up before you buy it. The check up won't find all the issues, but it will tell you if there are BIG issues.

Nir, sorry to hear that you don't enjoy buying s/h cars, it should be fun, look on it as a challenge....

If you're on a budget and worried about hidden problems, why not go low-cost and buy something like a new Dacia?

It's a good idea to have the car checked by the Touring Club Suisse before buying it.  They can tell you of any problems the car might have and do an estimate of the value so you know if you're paying the right price.  See here.
