Dear all,
I am looking for a job in UN. I know it is not easy, but because of this I am trying it this way as well.
I have been involved with West Africa for a number of years through a Czech NGO implementing humanitarian projects in the area. Since 2005, I have conducted several monitoring missions in Guinea to oversee the NGO’s educational and public health projects. In Czech Republic I coordinated psycho-social activities for refugee children.
I am currently taking a master’s degree in African studies within the Faculty of Political Sciences (distance learning), with my main area of study focusing on conflict resolution and politics. My first University degree is in Economics and Public Administration.
My interest in conflict resolution and Africa has naturally led me to broader interest in human rights in general and I am currently participating in a one-year European Voluntary Service programme in Georgia, where, apart from my NGO volunteering duties - working with IDPs, monitoring of projects, I am looking into the situation and conflict resolution trends and prospects in the breakaway regions of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
For the past three years I have been working in several commercial companies, tasked mainly to compile media reviews, prepare reports, position papers, information summaries and presentations on va rious aspects of the political and economics situation in Central and Eastern Europe.
Apart from native Czech, I speak English, have a working knowledge of French, moderately advanced Russian, and basic German.
Thank you a lot.
Tereza
