jogging problem

 Hi,

I'm an runner beginner,I mean I exercised all my life, but in  fittness club

My problem is that i don't know what to wear..I see everybody else wearing light clothes but for me I can't even imagine to wear like that with this temperature.

result:  cough for 3 days,  too much sweat ( I was wearing coat and woll sweater)

Can some  expert suggest me what should I exactly wear?

Dress warm, but not too warm. You should feel a bit cold when you leave the house.

Take gloves and a hat that covers your ears.

You have adequate light running clothes for cold temperatures like thermal trousers and sweaters and also arm or leg warmers and gloves. I wear stuff from gore, under armour, nike and adidas for running. The first two brands are very good for cold :)

Have a great run!

Wear two (or more) thin sweaters, so that you can remove a layer when you start sweating.

If you hang around outdoors after you run, remember to put that layer back on again when you stop.

Come along and talk to the glocals runners at the bains de paquis 1900 Mondays and Wednesdays, to chat with the experts.

Dont wear anything wool, thin running tops like under armour/New Balance/Brooks etc are designed to allow breathing but also keep you warm. Sweat has to be allowed to leave your skin to allow a regulated body temperature. A couple of layers of proper clothing, maybe plus a running jacket, should be plenty and in my case would be too much.

Running tights make a huge difference and for me reduce the potential soreness in the knees and hips otherwise exposed to the cold breeze.

It is indeed normal to be a bit cold leaving the house!!

Agree with people. Avoid coton.

Under Armour and Gore are great to keep you warm but some other brands are starting to get better like mentioned Nike or Aasics but go for winter range.

You should only need 2 layers 1 of the above + a light jacket. Gloves + Hat if it's under 5 degrees.

A few minutes and you should be fine.

Running Planet (city centre by the Eaux Vives 2000) is specialised in running equipment and clothing you should find what you need there. Mention my name (amandine lacour Personal Trainer@ Fit For Life) and you should get 10% off).
