letter from Office of Population to cancel Swisscom contract?

Swisscom says I can cancel the last 3 months of my contract without a fee if I get a letter from the Office of the Population saying I am leaving the country.

Does anyone know what documents I will have to give the Office of the Population to get such a letter?  Or what this process is called?

Thanks!

Hi Margaret,

Before leaving Switzerland you would have to notify the authorities and contact the Office Cantonale de la Population (OCP http://www.ge.ch/ocp/). They will take your residence permit and ask details of your new address before issuing the "leaving document".
