i know of one in geneva and one in lausanne. what area of law ? civil, criminal, labor, etc?

If you have legal insurance, speak with them. They usually know the best lawyers on legal stuff (cos it's a big part of their work), and ofcourse it's covered by the insurance.

If you don't have legal insurance, then going to see a good lawyer will set you back CHF 300-500 an hour. Think if it's worth it...

If it's to get to know you rights against employer who is doing "economic reduction", I'm almost an expert, in the " letter of Swiss labor law".

- Permanence juridique is cheap (50CHF) but useless. They will read you the paragraphs from the "code de travail".

I met Me Nathalie Bornoz (Mentha & Assoc) 400CHF/h, who was great in walking me through all details of the case and pointing out all the points where company is following the Swiss law. However, she didn't come forward with the proposal to step into and get more then the law says for me. 

Here in not US. the lawers don't try to win a client and fight for him. They keep it safe to getting most of hourly fees w/o risking their hair.... and are not willing to give you an upfront case-cost estimation....Sorry lawers online. That's my experience ;-)

If anyone knows a LAWER who would squeeze a "discretionary" severence package out of a multinational... and would estimate his total service fee, please give me his/her name !
