Try the Salvation Army on Route de Chêne, trams 12, 16, 17, stop Roches. I have seen some there periodically.

I’ve heard that you can find second-hand bicycles in good condition at the Plainpalais flea market on Wednesday and Friday mornings.
Good luck, R.

You also need a bike tax sticker on your bike to show third party liability insurance. You can get the sticker from the post office, I think.

Seriously?! It seems like there is nothing in this town which you can just go out and do without some form of bureaucracy getting involved! Haha

What’s so unusual about having a sticker to show you’re properly insured to use a vehicle on public roads?
In many countries it’s obligatory to display a disc or something similar to prove that the registration of your motor-bike, car, etc., is up to date.

The Swiss "vignette a velo" will be abolished soon... since most residents have 3rd party insurance (house) as part of law anyway which in most cases covers bicycles.
Worth checking when this comes into force , or if a referendum is still needed. In any case the Swiss parliament voted in favour of abolishing this sticker 2 to 1 back in October last year.

Hi!
Some Informations about the sticker, you might want to know:
This ist the last year, you need a sticker.
You can get those stickers (vignette vélo) at most supermarkets (Migros, Denner, Coop etc.. ask at the checkout for it. At the Post, Railway stations and Kiosk's... you can get it too. Costs: 5-8 Swissfrancs.
The Sticker from 2010 is valid until first of May.
Just putting the sticker is not sufficient: You also need to write down the Number, Color and brand of your bike on the sheet which comes with your sticker. The Number you can find if you turn your bike upside down where the pedals are attached.
If you put your sticker on a previous one, its very well possible that you can buy another one as it can be removed easily. The previous one stabilizes the new one and some people are "saving" the fee like this.

BTW if you go to Decath at Annemasse you can get a basic single speed adult bike in any colour as long as it is orange for 70 euros. They sell a lot in France where bike theft is massive.
Regarding theft, not such a problem in Geneva but a lot of bikes go at Cornavin.
