No one picked up your cry for help - maybe it was too vague a request

- and I guess proposing payment for the help and service provided is rather an offense

So when and where ? what exactly ?

there are definitely some strongmen around that can help you with the perspective of a grateful smile and a beer - I guess availability rather after work and before sunset

a couch ? how heavy ? you need just one person ? or are 4 needed ?

do you have a vehicle for the transport ? how much time would it take ? 5 min or 2 hours ?

Hope this helps in reformulating your needs

wow - well...aren't you interesting...apologies.  no insults meant  i posted something similar about a year ago and found quite a lovely person to help, was just hoping for similar luck.  annnnyway.

when...any time this week, weekend included.  what....an average couch, probably could be carried with someone on each end, moderately heavy?  unfortunately, there are lots of stairs (4 flights of stairs down, 6 up).  the biggest issue is transporting from servette to paquis because no, i dont have a van.  could probably be achieved in an hour.

beer drinking was a given.

The transport issue has to be solved first then.... i were you mentioning other furniture to be moved as well ?

To estimate the weight, can you, as a woman, easily lift one end of the couch, or is it "impossible to lift" (more then 40 kg) ?

Hope this helps to focus

I'll help you out with carrying it, but I don't have a big car so we still need to solve the transport issue...

thanks to you both.  yes, i can (as a woman) lift a side of the couch.  i just am 73% sure I couldn't lift it for the duration of that many stairs.  perhaps.  i will look into renting a van for an hour or so but if anyone has any other suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.

enjoy the sunshine!!!!!

Instead of a van, a car with top luggage carrier might do the job as well.

Depends on the size of what you want to move.

You need then adequate fasteners of course.
