Actually if you are located in Switzerland, you can do whatever you want and it will all be legal. As far as I know, it is completely legal to download anything you want in Swtizerland so long as it is for personal use. Selling it or sharing it with others is not permitted though.

This is the tricky bit actually. I still don't understand how it works with torrents, because technically, while downloading something this way you are also automatically sharing. Or maybe if you make sure you seed to less than 100 percent its okay?

However, in most countries in Europe, the law only goes after those that sell downloaded content or host such websites. Going after private persons that just do a few downloads, would cause half the country to go to jail.
If you want to do it on the safe side, you better use newsgroups.
Advantage of newsgroups:
- Download at maxspeed of your internet
- File are hosted on servers, so you dont upload to anyone
- Newsgroups provide information regarding the product: subtitles, movie source, audio quality etc
- Newsgroups provide; games, software such as windows, pda/phone software, xbox, PS3, MAC, music, movies and loads of porn. The chance of downloading virusses or something totally different then was mentioned, is almost zero.
Only disadvantage is that you have to pay around 10 euro a month.

This is a small price for what it can potentially offer. However, my problem is I see no way to search what is actually available. In other words, no way to see if any of the stuff I might actually be interested in is there before paying...
