old laptop
Does anybody know what should I do with an old/broken laptop?? I still have some music and photos there what I would like to have but it's not very important. I just don't wanna throw it away knowing that somebody can use it... So if anybody knows a place or a person who can help me, please let me know!

Thanks, Hegle :)

Assuming that the old hard-drive is 2.5" IDE, you could use something like this:

http://www.pearl.de/a-PX3130-1339.shtml

To transfer over the data.

If it's a Mac, just connect the old and the new via Firewire Target-Mode and you can see the old drive as an additional drive on the new box ;-)

I can recover your files for you and put them onto an external disk, send me a message if you're interested.

How about contacting the association Realise (www.realise.ch)?

They may be able to re-use your computer as they repair and sell old computers while helping people to get back into the workforce.

The website is in French so if you need a hand contacting them let me know. Wd be happy to help.
