Hi Comartien,

This might not directly answer your question but I would offer a couple of comments/suggestions for you to think about.

For CV level photos you probably do not need to go to the expense of a professional photographer on the one hand and on the other hand you need something better than a photomat at the train station.

I think that you should first try someone who does passport photos (their are lots in GVA and Nyon). For less than CHF 30 you should have four passport sized photos that are a good size to clip onto a CV. As well, they will often give you 50% off for a second set of four photos when printed at the same time.

If you are planning to apply for jobs via email/Internet, you should see if you can get a digital copy of the photo. Scanning a small photo for use in a document is not great. You loose a lot of quality.

This would mean that you take a USB stick with you so you can get a copy of the photo. Not all people will be able/willing to do this so ask first.

If you send a CV via email, I always suggest that you convert the final Word document into PDF (free software is available). This means that the document will not be deformed as in the case of the person having another version of Word or has his/her settings that are different from yours. Also with a PDF they can not see how you constructed the document.

You will want to concentrate on the presentation aspects of the photo. Depending on the type of position you are applying for (accountant v.s. artist), what you wear in the way of clothing (very important decision for a woman - a man just wears a suit and tie), your makeup (little/lots), hair style and your facial expression can be very different! Only you know the objective of the photo. Since this is not a passport photo you can smile a bit (or a lot), look serious, playful etc. depending on the objective of the photo.

I hope that these comments help.
