The bad news:
The hotel originally confirmed guests can swim at the pool tonight. Today the
Hotel informed us they're having reservations about this due to safety
concerns. We tried hard to assure them of the safety, offering to physically
enable swimming only in the shallow end, triple the security around the pool,
and allow only a fixed number of guests into the pool together. But 15 minutes
ago we received final word from the Hotel's Director that their safety
concerns are too big, and no swimming will be allowed tonight. We
truely apologize for this. It's not what we were promised. We negotiated a
little compensation for this:

whaaat? no swimming at a pool party? are u kidding? is there a way i can get my money back? i didnt pay 20 chf to look at a pool at 37 degrees.

i know ...can stand on concrete and drink beer anywhere without the torture of a pool you cant swim in ...is laughable

replied to the email i got from buyclub and was told i can contact him again please tomorrow for a refund. im sorry, but honestly i believe you can go anytime to the hotel and have a drink by the pool. the 20 chf was for a pool party, which, in my eyes is not existing if you cannot actually USE the pool. have fun all. i'll jump in the lake instead.

Or we should all just annoy the hotel with phone calls and maybe eventually they will say yes. I don't understand how president Wilson can manage our safety and intercontinental cannot.

Not sure how this panned out but it seems if the hotel changed the terms of the deal, buyclub should have cancelled.
While it is crazy for a hotel to insist on a pool party with no pool access it also not smart for buyclub to pay them for it.
