ramoneur - fireplace inspection

Hi everyone. I am leaving my apartment and the regie told me I have to contact the ramoneur to make sure my fire place is ok (I never used that). Do you guys know how much it would cost and to whom I should refer? The regie gave me a name, but you know, everything that comes form them is usually 10x more expensive than normal.

Thanks a lot for answers!

Ramoneur prices are fairly controlled and competitive - as there aren't many who do it anymore, the person the regie has recommended will be the only one or one of a very few in your area. You can't get someone to do it 'on the black' as you need to have a certificate that the regie and the next tenant will use for insurance.

Fees can be between 75 - 110 chf, depending on how much work they have to do.

BTW if you have a fireplace and use it, you need to have it cleaned once a year (keep the certificate as evidence). If not, and there is a fire coming from the chimney, you will be held responsible and your insurance will be void
