Hello Nana,
By definition rent in Annemasse is Cheaper. However if you decide to rent there consider the cost of transportation, the taxes (Taxe d'habitation) etc
The french government is also considering to implement a taxe for Health insurance which will be around 8% of the gross salary from what I have understood...you should check in this direction what impact it will have on you.
