Earlier this year I read an article somewhere about an annual ski swap in France (somewhere near Annecy maybe...)
Anyway cant find the link/article anymore but I seem to remember it was the beginning of Dec,

Yes, there are actually lots of these, but the one you're thinking of is this weekend in Annecy-le-Vieux.
Sellers should drop their gear off Saturday morning. Open for buyers Saturday 2-7pm and Sunday 9-12.30.

It's this weekend, (Nov 30 - Dec 1). This one is organised by the ski club of Annecy-le-Vieux, which is not the same as the ski club of Annecy.
To avoid further confusion for anyone going there: Annecy Le Vieux is the (largely modern) suburb on the East side of Annecy, not the historical center...
