skincare
i would be so grateful for any advice...

i usually have bright, clear skin, i have always been lucky but since moving here it seems to have gone haywire!

i think a mix of the cold weather and hard water is really having an effect on my skin. it is so dry and yet oily and i seem to constantly have spots. i use a good facewash each day, don't sleep in make up (in fact, i hardly wear any) and moisturise religiously. it's driving me mad.

if you can offer any advice at all, please do. thanks!

I find SOS Serum by Guerlain really useful for calming skin, which is irritated by cold, too much sun etc - it's a little bit expensive but worth it !

hello!

Let me give you 2 major recommendations:

1) if you like using water to wash your skin, never forget to apply a kind of tonic lotion after in order to restore pH (a good one delivered in pharmacies = lotion micellaire Créaline H2O by Bioderma)

2) use light texture skincare products (such as fluid creams and serums)

My advice would be to use:

- the Pore Minimizing serum at night (to re-blance your skin deeply)

- the Hydra Quench Lotion (fluid cream) which contains also a 15 SPF sun protection. This product can be use both at night and day.

I hope these advices would help :hehe:

thank you, i think the ph balance is a really good idea and seems obvious to me now!

as for the face creams, i had a sample of the best face cream i have ever tried. it is NO 7 protect and perfect beauty serum. i was hoping to stock up on it when i next visit the UK but apparantly there has been a lot of hype about it being the best anti aging serum ever.

this sounds great and it makes your skin feel like silk but i am only 22, i dont suppose you know whether using an anti aging product at my age could damage my skin at all?

Yes I do know quite a lot about skincare... because it is a sector I worked in for several years (!)

So I can tell you that using an anti aging product will not damage your skin at all ; although it might simply provide your skin some components it does not really need... Usually anti aging products are dedicated rather to compensate aging effects (such as loss of hydration, firmness...) than to re-balance skin and face issues (like spots...) which seem to be the problems you want to solve at the moment. This means that this serum can be too rich for skin and generate more reaction. Therefore I would advice to start recovering a "normal" complexion by applying light texture and simple benefits.

I'e been using the clinique pore minimizer line, they have a serum, a thermic treatment (you put the cream on your face and as soon as it gets in touch with water it heats up) etc, and various other products. I love it and it always works .... I don't know if it's better then other products as I only use clinque, but I never had problems.

This is quite an old thread so it will be interesting to read the latest solutions and suggestions.
