summer camp for my 8-year-old cousin
Hi!

All my family is trying to figure out what to do this summer for my 8-year-old cousin for her not to spend all the vacations with grand parents.

I thought that it might be great for her to make some international summer camp learning English (she's Russian and she learns English at school).

I wonder if in Geneva, such an international place, there is something of the kind?

Do anybody know??

Thanks for any tip!

Hi Larissa,

Yes there are different options. I used to work at Village Camps, an international day camp for 4-13 year olds, plenty of activities, day trips, kids from all over. Check out http://www.villagedaycamps.com/index.html

Otherwise there is a camp at the International School of Geneva, LGB campus, Chene-Bougeries, which offers sports, theatre or arts&crafts programs. Its a day camp as well. http://www.ecolint.ch/ecolint/ch/en-ch/index.cfm?page=/ecolint/home/school_life/summer_programme

I think the other international school does one too, College du Leman in Versoix, but don't know anything about this one http://www.cdl.ch/podium/default.aspx?t=105467

Hope that helps!

Just to specify, these are not specific English courses, just camps in English (and French, most groups are quite mixed in my experience at Village Camps, some kids speak either, both, or neither). (Not sure what CDL one offers though...) Village Camps does offer other residential camps which have English courses, and I think Berlitz does residential camps for kids to learn English too

There are also some netball camps running that are specifically for girls

www.skillsnsport.com/geneva-summer-camps-2014.html

There is one running in July at Institut International de Lancy (Petit Lancy) and then one at La Chat School.

Please email me on [email protected]

Its a great and fun sports camp for girls. Netball is a great team sport for girls where they can learn teamwork as well as ball skills and speed and agility,

Again not strictly a course to teach English, but Simply Theatre Academy run various drama courses for children aged 7 - 18 in English. The website is www.simplytheatre.com or you can email [email protected]
