Restaurants on Sal?ve?
Anyone know of restaurants on Sal?ve that one can drive to? There's got to be some with a view, right, even for a hiker? Would prefer something open till after sunset (plan to take photos).

I found a mention of Grottes du Diable, but no details on where it is, or how to get there - or anywhere else.

and I have been there in winter 2 years ago ...we were driving direction Annemmasse (can it be?) and then we went up ... it was a bit before the Teleferic. Right on the side of the mountain. Nice fondue and great view... but we found it by driving up and down. I know there's another one on top of the saleve ....
Sorry can't help more then that.

Vale

Hi.
There's more than one restaurant above the Saleve. One very close to the antenna. Another one close to where the Paragliders are taking off by norththerly wind. Other ones at la Croisette and one at les Crets close to where the paragliders are flying by westerly winds!
Nice place to have a good look at the sunset is clode to the antenna. Easy access to the cliff!
Enjoy

drive up to Croisette (best is to go turn just before Collonge sous Saleve) and go to the Auberge du Montagnard.
Thet have a fab view, really good fondue and entrecote frite. Also salads, tartiflette, cheese and homemade desserts. All is good and cooked with care. The place is family runned for 4 years and they are always trying to improve. They just build an extension to the restaurant all in galss so you can enjoy looking out on Mont Blanc all in orange when the sun goes down. Also very funky to be there when the thunder is on. I have been going there basically every weekend during spring and automne, perfect when you been hiking on Saleve.
