I'd like to find some places to take a dog where he can run "wild" without any problem, especially fields or open spaces as I already know a few wooded areas. Also which, if any, of the plages down at the lake allow dogs?

There is a nice fenced open field in Genthod, in which dogs are allowed to run freely
This place has access to the lake too.

If you are in Zurich you can go around kloten airport, I just know how to get there with the GPS but Im sure you can google it. Im a volunteer in a near by dog shelter and I take the dogs there, they love it, there are also lots of people walking their dogs... as it is a military base, sometimes jeeps drives on the street, but its so big that its not a biag deal.
