Or catering for mostly the other end of the market, maybe Bucherer on Rue du Mont Blanc?

At your budget you are in the Swatch teritorry which I wouldn't call an "authenthic Swiss watch". For something that can be called a Swiss watch you would need to spend >1000 and even then you are at the lower end. I personally would go <100 for a "fun" watch that you like about colors etc or >1000 for a quality movement. In between it's money wasted IMHO.

I think it very much depends on how anal you want to be about the term 'swiss watch' ..  Bought in switzerland, designed in switzerland, assembled in switzerland.. etc..

Swatch is a swiss parent company, components mostly made and assembled in switzerland but some of them are made elsewhere or bits made elsewhere. In fact is Omega not owned by swatch too??

Indeed the big chunk in the middle is full of rubbish.. Except probably some low end Tag watches which start around 800chf or Tissot which probably start around 500chf.

Watch out for Oris / Festina and the like, often sold in tourist shops at high prices, they are not expensive watches and can be picked up on Amazon for a fraction of the tourist shop cost. Nothing wrong with them but inflated prices.

I have a Mondaine SBB swiss railway watch, i think that's classically swiss :)

You can buy Festina (Swiss watches with Citizen Japanese movements) in Manor.

They have also other Swiss watches that don't cost an arm and a leg.

John is right; what constitutes a "Swiss" watch?  The watch with the strongest affiliation to "Swiss life" is indeed the Mondaine railway watches, in my opinion.

How about Victorinox? You even get a Swiss flag!!

M watch. there is nothing which says switzerland like Migros. and their watches are

representative of swiss culture. besides, you can find swatch worldwide. M watch, nowhere else but in switzerland.
