Does anyone know a good place to go buy fish (mostly salmon and tuna) to make your own sushi? I've tried Uchino's but it's not quite up to snuff. We also tried bio salmon from Coop and it's ok, but still not quite 'it'. Happy to get any tips in Geneva - Versoix. Thanks!

Manor at Chavannes Centre has good fresh looking Fish... quite pricey, but decent Tuna and Salmon steaks.
For shellfish the Divonne Sunday market is good. Not convinced about the Tuna.
Carrefour Hypermarche in Ferney also ok (ish) depending on day.

I would definitely be for Manor. I believe it's delivered daily and you can have that conversation with the fishmonger there!! I've used it many times and never tastes 'fishy' if you know what I mean!

Globus has really good sashimi grade ahi tuna (beautiful red color and very fresh). I'm not sure about the salmon but it looked good.

Wow, thanks for all the great tips - I will follow up and report back here as I sample the offerings.
We're a bit spoiled in that, in our previous city (Amsterdam) there were several Japanese delies that took care of the sourcing of sashimi-grade fish.
Thanks again!

Thanks for the additional tips Mimi!
So on Thursday I went to the Manor close to Cornavin and, indeed, VERY good salmon and tuna, and at a very reasonable (for Sushi-grade fish) price; approx CHF 50 for 1.2 kilos of fish, enough for 4 adults when you throw in a salad, miso soup and what have you. For the salmon (there are 4 or 5 varieties) I chose the Pave one. I made the sushi on Friday and it was delicious.
As I sample other places I will report back here, but this experience with Manor was very good.

Be attentive about the fact that most of raw fishes you will find have to be cooked. Raw fishes for sushis must be freezed under at a certain temperature (usually -40°C), to kill germs and bacterias... And it's not easy to find...
