Any venue suggestions to host the Café Philo in Lausanne?

Hi,

I am looking for a bar, café, hotel or else, easily accessible and with a seperate and quiet room where we can organize the café philos in Lausanne in a nice atmosphere, free of charge but where we can buy drinks and eventually food. The café philo takes place every fortnight on Sundays from 19:00 til 21:00 and usually gathers between 20 to 30 pers.

So far, we did it in Le Bleu Lézard, which is great but some told me that with the beautiful sunshine outside, it feels strange to go and sit in a dark cellar... which I can understand... We tried another venue last week, but the owner now wants to charge us CHF50 / h... and since the Café Philo is free (and I am willing to keep it that way), I would be happy to get new ideas. Then I will go and discuss with the places' managers to see if we can find an agreement.

Thanks a lot in advance for your help! Smile

Hi Isabella - I swear I'll get to one of these, someday!  Have a word with Ludo about Benjamins.  They have a nice terrace (not big enough for 20, I appreciate) but its lovely and light and airy inside and they do provide tapas with drinks for him.

His next drinks is (I think) next Thursday at Benjamins, so worth having a look.

Alternatively its almost picnic and plage weather :-)

Thanks a lot Carolyn. The same idea was suggested by Roger. So I have signed up to Ludo's next drink.

The beach is a great idea too! We'll probably go when it's a bit warmer in the evening... I am a mediterranean girl afterall... liking the heat... Wink

Hey,

I dont know if its free or not (I think it is) but you could check out Restaurant Le Vaudois. They have two fairly big rooms and will also do good (and cheap) food.

Hi Izzie,

I would like to suggest some nice parc or lawn for a warm summer evening. Combine with a picnic, or a meal on a terrace afterwards?

Thanks gain for your excellent Café Philo :-)

See youi soon, Elisabeth

Hi Elisabeth,

Thanks, that's an awesome suggestion! We shall definitely do it as soon as the weather permits, hopefully next week!

See you soon Smile
