Anyone else fed up with Euro 2012?

I'm tired of not being able to sleep when I need to ,or get home from an evening out without being stuck in a pointless traffic jam.....because some people are all excited about their "country" hitting more balls into a net than another one.

I have a friend who struggled to get his child to the children's hospital, and I myself was once stuck, hot and roasting and feeling unwell on a bus stuck in traffic, because some people felt their joy was more important than anyone else's need to use the roads.

I know I will appear mean - but other people have lives too .....and valid reasons for needing to sleep/travel.

Why should one group be able to dominate???

mmm-good point.hadn't thought of that(too annoyed here in town unable to sleep!!)

Yes,and on top of that,it's just selfish.I mean,I'd love, right now,to play some of my music at full volume........but I wouldn't be allowed to,would I,no matter what my emotions might be(and,I tell you, that music not be the kind to lull you to sleep, the way I'm feeling at the mo!!)I'm not a victorious football fan-I'm just an ordinary Joe(Joanna-even worse)

I think I'll hang out a surprise flag for the next few days - ancient Mesopotamia?Troy? East Germany Yell

When I look at peple inanely waving flags out of car windows-and then looking awkward when they find themselves alone on the street i think - is THIS what makes you proud of your country.?The history of italian politics in recent years ,for example, would rather incline me to hide myself away out of shame!!!!!

OMG and Bloooody 'ell - what a winge-fest going on here! - You all sound about 82, donning pipe and slippers, and staying indoors reading The Telegraph!!

Its not just football, its ANY sport, national event, international event.

The Lausanne Marathon closes off half of Lausanne and causes no end of grief - am I going to start moaning about runners?

The Diamond Jubilee has caused "havoc" on the London Streets - do I want the monarchy abolished because of it?

The Olympics are going to turn the East End into a logistical transport nightmare, will I petitioning the IOC to have it played out in a field in North Devon, next time?

Wimbledon is currently grinding to a halt and my ex-Wimbledon friends can't even park in their own driveways - am I going to boycott Andy Murray?

Where I used to live, near Twickenham, meant Rugby days saw me staying indoors and battening down the hatches every Saturday, but would I turn down Jonny coming round for his tea?

I loathe football as much as the next "Joanna" but why not live and let live? They're a happy bunch (at least in Lausanne) if a bit noisy, and if they can't express themselves and have a good old honk on their horns every two years (ooh errrr, that came out all wrong!) - then we'd all be living in a very miserable world.

HONK YOUR HORNS IF YOU WANT ANDY MURRAY TO WIN WIMBLEDON!!!

All together now "ANDY! ANDY! ANDAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!"

Good try Carolyn m'dear - but the events you mention actually involve people having to BE in the streetsThey don't deliberately go out to block them up and stop other people going where THEY want

.I've got nothing against people celebrating it's just the monopolising of public space that annoys me.

I've got no pipe or slippers..... I don't like being stranded when I want to go out and hit the town(and have serious fun:-)

Neither Rugby or Tennis involve people having to "be" in the streets, but never one to miss an opportunity, I'll take my "try", kick it over the bar and convert it for another 2 poiints.

Voila! That definitely deserves a HONK!Tongue out
