Hope your car is not flooded at this time....As a resident in Switzerland you can own a car and park it in UK.  So, why don't you contact your friendly swiss insurance broker in Geneva or Lausanne and ask to re-insure your car? You pay the insurance in Switzerland and you drive the automobile when back in UK. If stopped by the police do not omit to present your Swiss driver's license.

Note: alternatively you might need to consider car registration in Switzerland and drive in UK with Swiss plates on your car.

If you are bringing your car here, you'll need to register the car in Switzerland.

Then, when you insure your car in switzerland, depending on the insurance, you can travel in Europe without any problem.
