Climbing partner

Hello,

I'm recovering from a knee surgery and I've just restarted climbing after 5 months from the op and 9 from the accident.

My level, and especially the confidence, is not as good as it used to, but I'm determined to get back to where I left ASAP.

My usual partner is very busy lately, so I'm keen on meeting new climbers.

I'm currently back to basics on 5b/5c depending on the movements involving the dodgy knee, but I aim to go back to feel confident on 6s quickly.

i work in Lausanne and I'm happy to drive to climb pretty much anywhere: I tend to go to Sottens, Magnet, Saxons, Chavornay....not before 7pm during the week.

I don't particularly mind the level, but I'd need to feel safe (especially considering the current wobbliness). Ideally someone who enjoys the outdoor and alpinism ...

Looking forward to new partners,

Giada

Giada,

My husband and I just moved to Lausanne and are avid climbers! We haven't been outdoors yet, as it's winter (plus we are still getting settled in and figuring out what crags we can get to without a car, etc.) But we do fully intend on going outside as much as possible as soon as things start drying out. Also, if you have more beta on outdoor spots, that would be really appreciated! We do all kinds of technical rock (trad, bouldering, sport), but don't have experience with alpine or ice.

We do climb regularly at Le Cube though (Tuesday, Thursday, and one day on the weekend). If you would like to join us there, you would be more than welcome! (It is all bouldering though, so I wonder how you feel about that with a bad knee?)

We are also game to try the rope gym in town, if we can find a way to get there....

Hope to hear from you soon, and climb on!!

We climbed Dec 24, yesterday, and I know someone looking for a partner tomorrow.  St Loup (La Sarraz) dries fairly quickly in the winter if there's some sun as the crag faces south.  It's reachable via transit plus a ~20-30 min hike.  What a bizarre winter we're having.

Hi Richardm,

I just realized that my gmail was filtering out my glocals responses, so I missed the message about climbing today. Bummer. :(
Please keep me in the loop next time you, or someone you know, is looking for a partner! I promise I am a good belay and am more than happy to lead withing my ability (which since I just moved here, I have no idea what that is!In the states I'm doing new school sport 5.11 and old school trad 5.6....there really is such a spread in grades depending on where you are! haha!!)

Richard H,

I am really interested in that! I'll double check with my husband when he gets home from work that we don't have anything going that I'm missing and I'll RSVP on the event wall soon. Thanks for bringing it up here, so we didn't miss it!

Climb on everyone and I hope to meet you all in person soon.

Kirsten
