Whilst cooking curry, my husband splashed curry over his pale beige trousers. [That will teach him to cook without a pinafore]! Only option now is to put them into the w/m with a darker coloured dye. Can anyone please give me the name in French for these dyes? Thank you very much in advance.

Dye them with the curry :-) This is called "Teinture" in French and you should find it in "drogueries" (phonebook listing)

Thank you, but we actually live in France, and with the recent fall of the Euro, we can no longer afford to buy in Drogueries in CH!!!

Did you find the "teinture machine"? The most common one is Dylon.
