I'm hoping for some advice from graphic designers in the Lausanne area on how to conduct a job search in this field. I moved to Switzerland since my boyfriend got a job here and now that we're more settled, a job search for me is the next step.

I finished my design schooling recently and my French is only intermediate, so I'm not prepared to make the leap into freelance work just yet. I'm looking for an entry-level position or even an internship to get my foot in the door. I have interests in both print work and multimedia.

I would really appreciate some insight into how the job search works here; I've gotten conflicting advice from my online research so I want to make sure I don't unwittingly put myself at a disadvantage. In particular, I'm not quite clear how to present the CV and cover letter, or exactly what information the CV needs to include (some say marital status and date of birth should be there while others don't). If there are good places for designers to look for job listings besides sites like jobup.ch that would, of course, also be helpful.

I would be interested in meeting in person to talk it over, if that would be acceptable to anyone.
