PS Alexander, there is definately a young group of student type expats in Lausanne who go on massive pub crawls.  They've come to our local 'the great escape' a few times whilst we were there. Perhaps have a google for them? The English forum (http://www.englishforum.ch) might have info on them.  Also, I thiiiiink there may be a yahoo group in Lausanne...

I moved here 2 months ago after deciding to be an au-pair as a cheaper way of trying a new country after university. My year of saving didn't quite go to plan!

Ive managed to meet quite a big mix of people, young and old so I have been quite lucky!

There is the 'Young, Fun and afterwork' drinks this Friday, and I think the more you go out, the more people you meet and then the younger ones all meet each other eventually!

So my advice is probably just to go to as many events as you can, and you will be sure to find some people you want to be friends with - even if you dont meet them directly at an event!
