How to deal with an irresponsible mover

We recently moved from Morges to Lausanne using Carbonie déménageure. The experience with them was absolutely horrendus. First, they dropped a couple of boxes. Second, they lost a few screws and small parts to mount the cupboard. I luckily found most of them so that they could mount the cupboard. But the third and the worst was, that they damaged our piano.

This is an electric grand piano, so the legs can be removed from the body to transport. They lost the screws to attach the legs to the body! The piano and all the other stuffs were kept in their depos for 3 weeks, so they said that the screws should be in the depos. After 2 trips between the depos and our new place and 2 hrs of waiting, they claimed that they'd found the original screws.

But it was a lie. They just used other screws to fix the legs. They forced in the different screws in the piano, which superficially mounted the legs. But after movers left, we found that the legs were not securely tightenedso we have to readjust them afterwards. But one of the screws they forced could not be even removed and hanging from the bottom of the piano, showing 2cm of its head.
This means, we cannot dismantle the piano again, which makes next move extremely complicated.

We are absolutely furious and complained twice by e-mail, but they've never replied.

The fee had been paid before the move.

Is there any organization to which we can file a claim to thie company and get a compensation? We aren't eager to ask for a lawyer as it'll be too much work and too much cost. Nevertheless, I do think the campany has to take their responsibility. Any advice is welcome!

Anyway, stay away from Carbonie for your move!

Hey Emi,

If you really wanna complain about their services, file a complaint against them, here's a link that might help, but in French:

https://www.ch.ch/fr/denonciation-police/
