Lawyer specializing in AI or health-related matters

Hello forum,

Does anyone have a contact for a lawyer who specializes in AI (assurance invalidité) or health-related legal matters in the Lausanne/Geneva area?

I had a massive surgery recently and have some continuing health issues which make it practically impossible to guarantee that I will have security if the (inevitable) day comes when I can no longer work for myself. I am currently indepently employed.

Thank you guys for youur time!

i think that you don't need a lawyer, but just an understanding of the swiss health care and coverage system.

the AI or assurance invalitdité is calculated just like the AVS pension scheme. if you have paid in during X number of years you have the right to claim. the minimum coverage (as for pension scheme) is 1100 sfr per month and a max. of 2200 per month. it is based on the number of years you have contributed. however, if this is insufficient to live on, you can request complimentary participation from the canton ( PC ) . which will make up the difference up to the minimum standard (2'600 + they pay all medical insurance and costs). if you are not swiss or do not have a "C" residence permit, you may not be eligible. also, there is a minimum requirement of years in the system.

However, if you had loss of income coverage due to sickness, you will be able to receive your salary for the duration of your medical treatment. ( which could be years )

hope this helps, good luck
