Looking for an appartement in Lausanne

Hello everyone!

I am a spanish civil engineer and I will start my PhD at the EPFL the 1st of April. I am moving with my boyfriend, so we are looking for something with at least one separated bedroom.

If there is something temporary, it would be also helpful until we finally found a place to stay for the 4 years. We are arriving aproximately the 23th of March.

Thank you all!

hey Aida,

u can look on rental websites for appartments. As a start, have a look at the following links:

- Classifieds tab in glocals

finding appartments is not easy in "big" cities in Switzerland, I advise u to be patient and contact as many ads as possible... Going out of the center of the city is a good idea as well, to increase the chance of getting an appartment (by having less people applying for an appartment)...

Good luck

Thank you Sinan!

I am looking at this pages and other ones too, but I think that from here (Spain) it is going to be much harder. I do not mind if it is out of the center as far as the M1 is relatively close.

I am thinking too about renting a flat thru airbnb or similar, for this searching period, does anyone know if it works well?

Thanks!!

Hi there,

I am renting my appartment from March, I do need to get a longer term rental but maybe we can sort something out for the shorter term. Bear in mind it will take you at least 3 months to find something permanent.

its close to lausanne train station and has a seperated bedroom, I will be renting it furnished.Message me if interested.

Hey Aida

I have just moved out of my furnished studio at Chemin de la Prairie 60, 1007 Lausanne and am currently looking for someone to take it over. The location would be ideal for you because it is only 5 minutes away from the university (with the Metro M1 from station Malley) and is also only 5 minutes away from the city center (with M1 as well). However, this would only be a temporary solution for you because it is too small for 2 people. I have been living there for the past 5 years, thus the rent is still down to CHF 810 (including charges for water and heating) per month. They only issue contracts for a minimum duration of 6 months but this would give you enough time to search for something bigger for you and your boyfriend. Just drop me a message if interested.

Best regards

Carina
