Hi, all! Well, guess who packed in such a hurry that he forgot his hiking boots? Was it my fault I thought the flight back to Switzerland was Friday? ....and it was actually the previous day, Thursday?? ....with only three hours to pack, get to the airport, check-in, and get the heart rate back to normal before taking off??? This was my senior moment of the year....so far! Looking for advice and/or actually a decent pair of hiking boots that are waterproof. I wear at least a mens 46 euro size, or 12 U.S. to sometimes a 13 U.S. or 47 euro size. I shopped around Lausanne yesterday, and as we all know, they are expensive here, and I don't want to break the bank. I am working in Lausanne for three weeks, then over to Germany, Austria, and finally France, and I am hoping someone here knows of a place to buy decent shoes at a decent price. I am totally opened to finding a pair that are second-hand, as I don't really need to invest in yet another pair of hiking/walking waterproof boots with four pair at home already. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Signed, barefoot bigfoot

If you are looking for something basic and cheap, Landi has some work boots that are very close to hiking boots in their feature and style. Otherwise go to France...
