"Request an Invitation"

Request an invitation to come to a BBQ in a public area? you must be joking.!

imagine requesting an invitation to attend the fetes de lausanne festival?
or to watch the sunset in Ouchy.! or ride the Metro from ouchy to Flon.

By invitation only!!

I don't see it as that much of a sacrilege. There are justifiable reasons to try to limit group size and to control group composition, even in a public place.

Most of my Dine @ events are "Request Invite" only and I don't see a huge difference between a restaurant and a BBQ as availability of grills can limit group size.

@alan but there will be others at the same place, not part of glocals event, who will also be trying to use the grills. So, the idea of "controlling" group size is like trying to rope the wind.

In a restaurant, sure, because there are tables and chairs. But, a BBQ?! I agree with Epicure.

I misread that as "availability of girls".  Ironic.

I clearly mentioned group size in the example.

Maybe, she just doesn't want Grumpy Cat to join, could we fault her for that?

Exactly the point, so why not simply invite your friends and friend's friends.

Unless the idea is to select from everyone who signs in. in that case, what about the person who says, "all my friends have signed up, but i don't want to be excluded because i don't like the host (hostess ) .

Are the "parts" bigger than the "whole" ? ( "the whole is equal to the sum of it's parts")

@ richardm " I misread that as "availability of girls". "  Good one !

and here you see below the mind set of the hostess. no one else may express their opinion, only the hostess may do so, with a lack of respect and a bit of hostility.Because my message was "disturbing" mabe we need to be disturbed in our thinking from time to time.

that's why she thinks glocals is so successful!!

You request to join the event - picnic / BBQ by the lake - has been declined by the owner.

I present my activities as I want. that's why glocals is so successful :) you can choose what to post, where, how, etc
If you dont like my activity dont come, organize yourself something that you like better....
i dont like many of the posted activities and i dont get angry, upset or i have to post my comments on any single activity...
please stop disturbing.

Sure epicure, you can express  your opinion, you did it already on this forum, so it is not necessary to inbox me if what you would do is to critize my activities or the way I organize them.

Please feel free to organize whatever you like, age limit or not, indoor/outdoor, big/small group, by nationality, race, WHATEVER.

I don't see the big problem, if you don't like it, just DON'T COME!

Guys, peace and love :)

I agree Zonker.  It's very sad when people use forums to bitch and moan about other individuals who are only expressing their right to use an invitation facility provided by the owners of the site.

It's also outrageous and vaguely litigious to cut and paste a private message into a forum just to prove a point.

We're supposed to be a "community" and I'm not seeing much community spirit going on here.

Peace out lovelies and remember, we're all connected. Kiss

i'm sorry if this comment was considered bitching and moaning.

it was meant to be humerous, but it may have struck a sensitive nerve with some people. why?

epicure - there's obviously a difference in your sense of humour and her sense of humour and she took it as a critisism or her organising.

You and I both know, from experience, that it's difficult to organise stuff in the first place.  If someone then calls you out on a forum about the way you've posted it, then I don't think it's very kind.

Now you mention it, I see the humour in it, just not in the subsequent posts.

Aye aye aye - you yanks and your "humor" Wink
