I had a very nice experience at www.red-room.ch, which is located in the center of Lausanne: Rue du Bourg. Before I tried many other places, Dessange as well, but I have always changed the hairdresses for a reason or another..

The haidresser is professional, with a lot of attention to details and to customer preferences. The prices are accessible for the quality offered!

Nicole at Chez Maxim (avenue des apples, lausanne) is wonderful.  She lived in NY for many years (and is pretty much a native new yorker) and is fluent in english,  great studio, feels like a cosy studio one would find in the west village.  she does a fantastic job.

I have been going to Fabrice at Eric Stipa just across from the train station for nearly 10  years. Every once in a while I get an itch for something different, but I am never as happy as with him. I have long straight hair that is not easy to cut and he always takes the time to do it right.

He only speaks French though...

Hi Elena -

Just a tip regarding the Red Room on Rue de Bourg.  I went there for some time, then was away until recently and went to see them & found the team there had moved.  If Marra is thinking of "Peter" (Dutch I think, speaks English) and Olivia, whom I went to & was happy with, they have relocated to the Flon.  I can't remember name of new place "1700" or something but the number is the same 021 311 1836.  It is a nice large new place in the central area of the Flon.  Often Peter just translates to Olivia (french only) what to do - (both highlights and cut) - and I was always happy.  

I also occasionally went to Dessange in Montreux b/c closer & sometimes their products for some reason a little easier on my dry hair.  They were fine, too.  Took longer, a little pricier.  

Good luck & I'll be interested if you find someone new who is great, just for fun.  Jill

I'm since many years in Lausanne and was at many hairdressers to cut my hair. I changed each time to another one! I was looking for a better hairdresser somewhere in Lausanne, but don't know who and where. At a drink I met a woman and had nice talk with her. She told me that she's a hairdresser and want to help me. she gave me her address, I was at her shop and was completely satisfied, happy after her cut. She's a good one and was not expensive at all!
