nice hike lavaux?

Hi all,

My sister is coming over to Lausanne this week and I wanted to take her for a hike through Lavaux. Since I haven't been here very long myself, I was wondering whether anyone has some suggestions on a nice hike (preferably around 3-5 hours of hiking)? And is there a place to start that we can reach by public transport?

Hopefully you can help me,

Thank you:)

If you're willing to hike closer to Geneva then I have some ideas for you, but Lavaux is not my area...)-;

Lavaux is a very good choice for a nice hike. it represents the area very well. I drew a path that I've done more than once, u can check it in this link.

Starting Point: Cully, Gare (easily accessible by train from Geneva-Lausanne-Cully).

End Point: Rivaz (u can take the train back to Lausanne-Geneva).

Path Length: ~ 11Km (should be around 4 hours, with the break).

All through the winyards, passing through the small villages inbetween.

Enjoy ;-)

Yes, we have done this hike and it is lovely, albeit that our sortie was in autumn when the leaves were turning brown and gold, and most of the grapes had been picked. Beautiful views across to neighbouring France - go for it!

And, you can also take a little tourist train that shows you the area whilst you sip local wine, that is also an idea :)
