 Salut Sean,

The other day on my way home I stumbled on this small yoga academy, I wrote it down because when I'm settled I'd like to do some classes again (I did some bikram back in spain), so you can check it and let me know if its any good.

The website is http://www.yogalaya.ch/ and its located in the Rue de Bourg 27, very near the Place St Francois

Good luck!
Jose

 Hi Guys,

I have also found this one, but haven't tried it as yet:

http://www.yogaworks-lausanne.ch/english/index.htm

I'd be happy to go along with you or in a group.

I'm a bit worried about the language though - my French is not good enough that I would be able to follow the teacher's instructions - do you think it matters?  Probably not.

Let me know if you want to go.

Christina

 Hi Christina,

I've been looking at the website and there are more posibilities that there are some classes in english, maybe its worth asking. (Maybe your french is not good enough yet but I have no french at all :( )

But for me first task would be finding a place to live, before starting any class, so I don't think I can start before september or october (Let's cross fingers than I'll have a place by then!)

But if you try any of those places let me know, and I'll join you later on

http://www.yogalaya.ch/ is great! I did 1 year of yoga with that girl and she was very good (she mainly does vinyasa yoga). I had to stop going to yoga because I changed job and could not attend her classes anymore but I really advise you to follow classes with her.

I have been to yogaworks a few times and really like it.  The instructors are good.  I do not speak any french at all and had an easy enough time of it.  I told the instructor beforehand and she gave many of the instructions in both french and english.  If not, pick someone in class that looks like they're a regular and look over at them when you're confused ;)

 Hi everyone,
If you interested, I am a Yoga teacher, english native
speaking, living and working in Lausanne. I am currently concentrating on personal and small
group sessions, and can come to your home or can also organise studio space if there is
enough interest (at least 5-6 people).
I have over ten years
experience in Yoga, studying the Iyengar , Vinyasa and Shadow Yoga forms. I am also a
professionaly dancer and study Oriental Medicine, so this is of course integrated into my
teaching practise.
If you need me to elaborate more don't hesitate
to contact me! It would be a pleasure to work with you.

There are a couple of upcoming Hatha yoga classes in Vevey this fall that will be given in French and English.

YOGA FOR THE SEASONS

Come and
discover the physical and psychological benefits of yoga during two bilingual workshops.
Everyone can benefit regardless of your level of fitness. Working side-by-side,
Hatha yoga teachers
Kim Gaynor and Véronique Menoud, will
teach you a range of postures.

Autumn Yoga:  Saturday 31 October from 3pm to 5pm

stretching and balancing postures you can have a calm and harmonious autumn!

Winter Yoga:    Sunday 29 November from 3pm to 5pm

To face the winter cold, it helps to reinforce the
immune system. Through dynamic yoga postures, we will eliminate toxins and
stimulate the body's natural defenses. We will finish with easy stretching
exercises which everyone can enjoy. For a healthy and harmonious winter!

Salut - A Bikram studio just opened in Geneva this month. And if you're an addict, it's not too far to travel for 90 minutes in the hot room.I haven't heard of any plans of one opening in Lausanne tho.

Hi- I am a yoga teacher living in the UK, originally from Toronto. My husband and I (also a yogi) are moving to Lausanne in March and I plan to start teaching Ashtanga vinyasa classes once I'm settled in, probably beginning of May as we are away for most of April. Have a look at my website www.yogawinchester.co.uk for current info. We have a large flat 5 minutes from the central station, with room for up to 8 or 9 people to practice.  I plan some evening classes and maybe early morning- Mysore and led primary series, and probably one or two Hatha classes (cost to be decided, but the going rate seems to be 25-30 CHF per class).  We also hope to start an Ashtanga self practice group, where people can come and practice with us (for free). Here in the UK we do that Wednesday and Saturday mornings at 8AM. Let me know if you are interested--beginners are OK for classes, but you would need some experience to join the self practice group. Looking forward to being in Lausanne and meeting other yogis! Donna
