Charlie Wilson's War - Very Good
This is a kind of politically incorrect movie based on true facts and characters. Tom Hanks is great and Julia Roberts magnificent. Very funny.

Charlie Wislon is not what you would describe as a typical politician or may be yes. The movie is very funny and when you really stop laughing at how absurd some situations and problem solving actions are you wonder how our planet did not blow up during the cold war.

This is the story of a politician that loves drinking, he is a dilettante, his office is full of beautiful female assistants... you imagine the picture. But do not judge someone before you really get to know him, you could be very surprised by the hidden gem. The guy takes to his heart the Afghan suffering after the Russian invasion. He fights and brings up a 5 million budget to a 1 billion envelop to defeat the cruel red army. This blow to the invincibale communist destroying machine is the start of the end of the cold war era.

The five last minutes are very important and a lesson for everyone! Sometimes you think to most difficult part has been done and you do not put a last effort to properly end what ever you have been doing. Never take things lightly begfore they are finished.

A beautiful lesson with a dramatic outcome. The thing I did not like is the way the Russian army has been shown... I mean they deserve it because they were bloodthirsty bastards but when you think about what the US army did in Iraq... It is just hopeless, a war, be it justified or not, produces the worst out of human beings! If you are a democracy or not, in the end, a war is always dirty and cruel beyond decency. Forget Geneva conventions... This is why we should never let crimes unpunished... the problem is that justice is always the justice of the winner and he is unlikely to make great efforts to judge his own crimes.
