Coco avant Chanel - good
This movie is really good. It is very academic in the way it has been shot but for me this is not a negative point and we do not always need to reinvent things. Sometimes a good classical approach is nice and does a very good job.

The director chose to show Coco's life before she became Ms Chanel and I must say that this approach is quite right. Thanks to the movie you understand where this amazing lady came from and why and how she became who she was.

The interesting point is that she was not someone exceptional but she questioned the way women dressed back then and decided to free then from their past. Furthermore she was very lucky to meet two persons that allowed here to become Ms Chanel.

The first was Balsan who did not have the courage to tell her he loved her because she was in a way unconventional and Mr Capel who preferred to marry for money than for love.

Coco became Chanel because Capel did not marry her... would she be Coco Chanel if she married? Nobody can tell but sometimes when you give up love you are lucky enough to do great things. What is more important of the two is anyone's personal opinion.

In a nutshell a very good movie, very interesting, very classical in its shootings and story telling but original because it focuses on Coco before Chanel and manages to show you how and why she became who she was.

You posted your comment on the 30 of may, now we have august, i am on delay, but i loved this movie, it was great to see coco, somebody who was not scared be different, not scared to go against the mainstream and someone who put so much effort in work.

For me she was exceptional, absolutely exceptional women and for me she would always became coco because work was her passion and her self-fulfilling. Love would be not enough, she was too strong to be depended on a guy. I agree with you, the guys were sissy, but maybe at that time the society put too much pressure at rich guys. I was feeling really sorry with her, she didn’t fall in love again, she truly loved in the past and after she abandon everything for work, she said that he hates sundays.  Brilliant movie.
