This is an epic movie with great costumes retracing one of the most humiliating defeat, the defeat of the Spanish Armada. This episode has sentenced the decline of Spain and the rise of England and her queen Elizabeth. I do not know how much is historic and how much is fiction but her speech in front of the soldiers before facing an difficult battle is beautiful. A battle and a even more so a war is never lost beforehand. You have to believe in victory, it may come or not but fight to the end. That is what too many people forgot nowadays.

The movie is excellent, great actors, fabulous costumes, great music, beautiful pictures... everything that makes a story entertaining: betrayal, vengeance, hatred, love, courage, passion, abnegation...

This was an excellent way to finish 2007 and I wish to all of you the best for 2008... I feel this will be a fantastic year. Although I cannot complain about 2007, I just have this gut feeling that next year will be just exciting... not easy, work wise depending on what you do it will be challenging, but keep the right spirit and sound judgement to weather the storms, just like Elizabeth did and your golden age might just be round the corner.
