Giorni e Nuvole - Nice
This is a movie directed by Silvio Soldini, the guy who did Pane e Tulipani (on my all time favourite's list) a sweet romantic comedy with a great Bruno Ganz.

Here it is more of a drama. A middle class couple, the guy loses his job (in his own company) does not tell immediately to his wife... she is just graduating and finishing her PHD so he waits to tell her.

Then you see how the couple slowly but surely grows apart, how tensions grow... it is sad but it often works out like that. We men cannot accept not bringing the bread at home. I guess too proud and the social pressure we face since we were haunting the mammoths!!!

I think people should be prepared for it, it is our society today, it is unlikely you will keep one job all your life. May be at one point you have to settle for something less exciting, less paid and then you might rebound... people have to be prepared for it and manage the situation with dignity... not hide it from friends...

Life is like that, people tend to see it as a failure when you lose your job, but sometimes it is not your fault, it is for political reasons, internal to the company, because someone plays you out in an unfair way maybe... but it does not mean you are bad at what you do.

I saw it happen to someone close to me... in the end things get sorted out job wise, it took almost ten years but the damage to his couple and family is there...

In a nutshell the movie is nice, well directed, a great Margherita Buy, a beautiful metaphor and a sweet ending. Do not forget what really matters in life! We let ourselves so easily overwhelmed by what should be secondary things even if sometimes they are big challenges to face and it is not easy... but true love should be stronger than anything I guess if it falls apart it might be that it was not true love.

Anyway I looking forward to see Indiana Jones, Sex and the City (really looking forward to this one, I must be the only non gay guy that loves it!) and Speed Racer (for this one I am like a kid before Christmas). And if we are lucky Mama Mia at cinélac, that would be just great!!!!
