Same formula as Grease. Very silly but you just have to go and see John Travolta as the mother in a fat suit. He makes a very attractive looking woman if you ask me and plays all the mannerisms very well...He's hilarious. A feel good movie while your brain is on its day off.

I agree this was just a delightfully movie. I didn't really look at who was in the movie other than try and guess if I can recognize the characters as they unfolded. Only in the end after seeing the credits did i realize.. OF COURSE it's J.Travolta! No one moves his hips better than he can.
The main character who's the short chubby girl falling in love with the cute, popular boy in school brings back old memories from my childhood days. Good music selections as well.

This is simply a great movie, an excellent musical. I laughed all along, there is a lot of little jokes, allusions about many different aspects of live from love to politics. Songs are great, lyrics are good, dancing is fun, these are the great 60s with their amazing cars. If you need a booster go and see it you just feel full of joy when the movie ends.
The main character is just a great little lady that energizes you. It is simple and full of positivism... if you are happy you are contagious, and go out there and get what you deserve, what you dream of... do not let anybody talk you down. John Travolta is fantastic as the oversized mother, excellent acting!!! we can thank Tarantino for having brought him back from oblivion years ago.
The 60s was probably the best period in history, I do not say everything was fine but the future was open and bright. Yes there was the cold war, yes there was racism and today we have terrorism and still racism but they had so many opportunities ahead, our parents had it great. Now I do not say that we have tough times, on the contrary I think we might have our 'trente glorieuses' (that's how in French we call the prosperous 30 years after the war) ahead of us but we have a big challenge that our parents did not have to face and that is the energy issues (although they had the oil shock too but the reasons were different, our addiction to cheap oil has to be changed if we want to have a chance of prospering further). Anyway I believe we could face great times ahead if we play it out right. We will see but whatever the outcome be positive like the great and big hearted Tracy (Nicole Blonsky)
