Into the Wild - beautiful
This is the story of a young guy that quits his family and travels around the United States to find himself. Some would say he runs from something, I would say he wants to understand who he is. We probably all did it in one way or another... may be even few times during our lives. This is a touching, beautiful and poetic movie with great landscapes, delicous quotes and tender encounters.

One sentence to sum it all: 'happiness is real only when it is shared' hope you will realise it sooner than later not like the film character. I always got this feeling that I can cope by myself when times are difficult but what I love is to share my happy moments. When I am not in a relationship during that happy times, in the end, I feel kind of empty.

I haven't read the book, but I thought the movie was really good (although a bit slow in parts). Beautiful scenery, good story, and very though provoking. It's a great movie for a really good discussion afterwards. It is an unforgettable film.

I have spent some time with this, I posted earlier about the story. My vision of the story was tainted with many different views of it.

The other post really did not reflect my views of the movie. After seeing the movie and having time to reflect on it vs. all the other information about what happened, I have to say i am very impressed with the movie.  Very impressed with Penn as a director.  He took many bits of a young man's life, a very thoughtful young man searching for his path, his way, hisself, and turned into a tribute to people who are seekers.  It makes a somewhat sad story into a wonderful adventure.  The path is the wonder, the journey is what makes it worth it. This movie really does a good job of making its point. It is a little long, but never boring. It is poetic at points, and always very visual.  Is it a true stroy?  Who cares.
