It's a free world - but a biased view of it!
Ken the red strikes again. In this movie a young lady gets fired and decides to start her own company. She works hard to succeed, she does not give up or complain. This turns out to be a story of a victim becoming the hangman. Being used before using weaker people than herself she ends up having no second thoughts what so ever when it comes to make money or in her sexual life. Even when she has an opportunity for a love story she gives up on it because of her situation which in end does not make her very proud of herself. She makes everything for the good of her son and ends up being merciless.

This is an attack against the liberal world we live in, but I do not agree with the good old Ken. I mean there is exploitation of misery for sure but is the system to be blamed or the people? Liberalism is not good or bad by itself, but it is what people make out of it. Unfortunately some are just taking advantage of others whatever the world they live in, no matter what the system is. That's human nature, not all of us have a sense of honour, generosity, humankind or empathy. Politicians and managers should all read Nichomachean Ethics and the world might just be a better place even if it is a free world!

Haven't seen the movie but from your description, sounds intriguing.

Harmless question.....Do you think that it is human nature to be generous, empathic etc. or do you think these need to be taught/learned?

Your thoughts?

I think we are the result of our upbringing, family, society, friends... we are influenced and influence others. Our local philosophe Rousseau thinks that we are all good by nature but that society corrupts us. I do not know but prefer to think that it is so. I think most things can be taught, empathy and generosity too. But some are quicker learners than others.
