Knowing (with Nicolas Cage) depicts the story of astrophysicist (Ted Myles, Cage) whose son gets handed a fifty year old document, drawn by a schoolgirl when the class was ask to "draw the future, fifty years from now".
It only contains numbers, which he later finds out correlate to dates, latitude and longitude, number of causalities of major catastrophes in the last 50 years - with three more to come.
While in the beginning, the film concentrates on the efforts of Myles to somehow stop or alter these events (you get so much from the various trailers - one reason I wanted to see the film...), the film more and more turns into an apocalyptic, paranormal, alien-infested bible-exegeses drama that knows no escape for most earth-inhabitants.
I was not completely dissatisfied by the movie, but the ending (which is quite religious IMO) probably leaves a few people scratching their heads.
On the plus side, the story is so absurd that you don't even think about the logic holes anymore ;-)

Ah, thanks Nir - I tried not to translate and copy the various reviews on cinema-sites (or wikipedia) too verbally.
Personally, I like "Next" (also from and with N. Cage) much better.
Best Regards,
Rainer
