Renée is the caretaker of a building where rich people live in their big apartments. She keeps a low profile, tries to stay discrete and is unnoticed. In the building lives a smart young girl that has decided to film the last few week of her life. She has decided to end her young life by a suicide as she does not like what she sees around her. A Japanese gentleman moves in too. They discover that there is more to Renée than what she shows. These three will form quite an improbable trio.
Renée in French is a name often given to a child following a miscarriage for example. In its way Renée will be reborn in the movie. The character is very touching because we often judge others by what we see and rarely take the time to know the person. It is remarkable when some people are capable of looking beyond the appearance and discover the treasures they have inside.
In a nutshell the movie is excellent. It plays with caricatures but I do not mind it, you will find excellent lines, humor, tenderness, wit and sadness.
