A Palestinian widow grows Lemon Trees until her Israeli neighbour, the defense minister, starts to build a wall. The lady tries to sue his neighbour in order to have access to her trees that are the only thing left from his father.
The movie is really good. On one side you see those two women (the lemon tree lady and the wife of the defense minister) that could find a way of living together. On the other side you have the guys, first the defense minister an arrogant testosteron-driven idiot. On the other side a Palestinian lawyer that in the end is more interested in his career than to save the Lemon Trees of his client. For him this case is about a political conflict and himself, a golden opportunity.
The movie does not leave us a lot of hope, nobody really wins and the 'good' people suffer. May be if the world was not ruled by men but women it would be better. However, I am not so sure because some ladies are arrogant, unfair, partial and merciless.
In a nutshell, the movie is really good and worth seeing because it touches a very painful subject with intelligence and in a original way. And even in these sad situations there is a touch of humanity... both ladies are great actresses.
