Just beautiful. This is a cartoon (in French) that tells the story of a young Iranian girl and her experience of an Islamic revolution, a war, an exile, the difficulty of being a woman in a men's world... the difficulties you encounter as a teenager. You feel close to the character. Like when she gets betrayed by her boyfriend, he is no longer the soon-to-be great play writer but just a loser! We probably all have the same reaction, we want to see the other as a failure to alievate our pain... but sometimes you just cannot bring into disrepute your ex even if it is just for yourself, even if it would do you so much good!
The cartoon has its own style, graphically it is great and although it is in essence sad, the author has a lot of humour. It is sensitive and touching. The grand mother is just fantastic (with the voice of Danielle Darrieux a great French actress).
This is a great 'movie'. Do not miss it.
There is few things out right now that I would love to see but will probably miss some... work is stressful right now (these big boys from Wall Street are chickens) and the festival de la B?tie will start tomorrow, haven't got the program yet but certainly some good things to be seen.
Life is great because we are lucky to live far away from wars, dictatorships and religious rulers! Therefore enjoy it in whatever way you find fulfilling!!!!!!!

Besides all the historical aspects that I don’t want to comment on, it was simply AMAZING to see how she managed to express so much with so little: very simple forms and black and white only! Life is really unfair: while some are granted with both skills and imaginations, others are not. Life would be a little more faire if “others” just wouldn’t notice how skillful and imaginative “some” are…wouldn’t it?
